Summary: On February 17, 2025, a sentence was passed in Novosibirsk on the former director of the Institute of Laser Physics of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexey Taichenachev, who headed the institution from June 2016 to April 2022. He was found guilty of abuse of power (Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced to three years probation with a probationary period of two years.
